History
The Town of Victor, NY was incorporated in 1879 and was named after Claudius Victor Boughton, a hero in the War of 1812. Initially a farming community, industry flourished as the waters of Mud and Fish Creeks powered mills and factories. With a new thruway established in 1946, Victor grew, attracting high-tech industries, manufacturing companies, small businesses, malls and more. There are some informative videos on Victor here.
Location
Victor is scenically situated in the northwest corner of Ontario County. Because of its proximity to vineyards, wineries, apple farms,and Victor hiking and bike trails, the picturesque and colorful ride to Cobblestone Creek is a pleasure. The community is a country retreat that’s close to Rochester city conveniences – the best of both worlds. Additionally, it is an easy twenty-minute drive to the nearby Finger Lakes where locals and tourists wine taste and stop by ski & snowboarding resorts. Homeowners are drawn to Cobblestone Creek for its proximity to schools, Dryer Road Park, Ganondagan State Historic site, and the village of Victor with its Village Farmer’s Market and charming town center.
